(PRWEB UK) 2 January 2014 -- We’ve noticed that since Selfie became the word of the year 2013, a lot of articles about the most bizarre and unusual or the best places to take selfies in have been making rounds. Sure it’s hilarious to take self-shots (yes, that’s what it is short for) in public restrooms, showing off your six pack abs, with your grandmother or whatever the latest fad is. No, Vanity and Technology have absolutely no boundaries.
Have a look!
1. Miniature World, Canada:
Because it is highly amusing to pretend to be Gulliver in Lilliput land and enjoy being a giant for a day. Besides, this pretty little Museum in Victoria is a must visit for its amazing collection. There are some 80 odd displays to choose in the city of your choice to be the King Kong of and click away.
2. Hall of Mirrors Versailles, France:
Okay, so everybody knows that the Hall of Mirrors is a serious sort of an attraction, but if Hilary Clinton can take a Selfie with Meryl Streep in the White House, everyone deserves a classy selfie too. The mirrors, windows and the skylights ensures that people have the perfect sun-kissed glow for pictures. Besides, aren’t mirrors like the selfie’s best bud ever.
3. Spring temple Buddha China
The Spring Temple Buddha in Henan is the best travel bucket list item ever;at a whopping 420 feet tall, it is the tallest statue in the world. In fact, this one is a bit of a challenge. Trying to get the whole of the giant statue and the face in the same picture is quite the task but people will be left pretty pleased. All the best.
4. Quantas First Lounge in Sydney, Australia
Ah. Travelling by Quantas first will leave people to brag about the swanky lounge anyway but there is even more reason to do so in Sydney. First of all, the lounge has the one thing every (good) selfie needs; mirrors and secondly it has the most eccentric design to see. There is also a spa and calming green plants inside the lounge.
5. Hundertwasser Washrooms, New Zealnd:
Well, the subject of public restrooms cannot be escaped. No one knows why most people feel the need to take pictures in bathrooms (the lighting maybe?) but the selfies flooding twitter suggest to clearly do! So why not try a selfie at these eclectic washrooms in New Zealand? Decorated with vibrant mosaics and recycled bottles, this bizarre tourist attraction is the perfect selfie location.
6. Nine Hells of Beppu, Japan
It’s creepy and everyone can channelize the inner Psycho for this one. This lesser known hot water spring In Japan is a lovely place to travel. Besides, the incessantly wafting vapors give it an eerie feel which is the perfect location for the Satan’s angel selfie.
7. TurkuaZooTurkey:
This Place in Istanbul just happens to be Europe’s biggest aquarium with over 25,000 sea faring creatures on display. Besides, if someone isn't up for scuba diving but still want that under water selfie, what better place to fake it, what say?
8. Stockholm Tunnelbana, Sweden
Another cool place to take your Straight-out-of-hell -look selfie.Well, the Stockholm underground is pretty well-known for its brilliant architecture but this particular subway station is built out of the natural caverns below the earth and is… bright red. Only in Sweden can public transport be interesting. Happy Clicking.
9. Ruby Falls, USA
Ruby Falls in USA are basically a huge cascade of water that falls directly into a cave in Chattanooga USA. The place is beautiful enough to see but imagine taking a selfie inside a cave that is always lit up in many colors while the water gushes down behind. It sounds straight out of a fantasy novel!
10. Madame Tussauds, UK
And last on the list and perhaps a bit of a cliché, the Madame Tussaud’s in London. But to give it a thought, what if someone wants to take a selfie with their favorite celeb but no star sighting is in the near future…? Head over to the nearest wax-figure museum, of course! Especially since this one is the original, people will be well-rewarded.
So With that we bid adieu to the year of the selfie and hope all travels are full of selfies and summers! Have a great year!
