Training Allies Helps HARMAN International Enhance Customer Experience at Flagship New York City Store

Training Allies provides HARMAN store associates with consumer electronics training to educate and wow visitors.

HARMAN International’s new flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York was conceived to elevate the company’s audio brands, including AKG®, Harman Kardon®, Infinity®, JBL®, Lexicon® and Mark Levinson®. Before opening, HARMAN called in Training Allies, specialists in consumer electronics training, to make sure the store staff had the skills and knowledge needed to favorably impress guests.

HARMAN products range from entry level headphones to the world’s finest home theater systems, so the salespeople had an enormous amount of information to absorb in a short period of time before the store’s grand opening. HARMAN selected Training Allies to develop and deliver the training program because of the Allies’ proven expertise in creating consumer electronics training. Jamie Feuss, HARMAN’s Senior Director, Retail, commented, “Training Allies designed the optimal course that focused on ‘need to know’ information and skills training, while making highly technical topics more consumer–friendly and easier to understand. In addition, their classroom trainers delivered the content effectively, preparing our associates to inform and engage shoppers in a way that is consistent with HARMAN’s reputation for expertise and excellence.”

The training took place over a two week period, and included product knowledge, selling skills, and customer service training. The goal was to ensure that HARMAN salespeople could deliver a memorably great customer experience while sharing with customers the history and major achievements of the HARMAN brands, all of which benefit from HARMAN’s incredible knowledge of the science of sound.

All of the training was custom built and delivered by Training Allies.
