5th Annual 30A Songwriters Festival Opens the Year With an Impressive Lineup
(PRWEB) January 02, 2014 -- Northwest Florida looks forward to the Songwriters Festival each year and will not be let down January 17th-19th. Hit songwriter Joe Leathers calls the event “the Sundance of songwriter festivals” and tickets sell out fast. With over 150 artists to attend and more than 200 performances, guests will enjoy some of the country’s top performers. Among the featured singer/songwriters are John Oates, Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Loudon Wainwright III, Shawn Mullins, and Ani DiFranco.
Performances will take place in over 25 venues along Highway 30A, including beach communities such as Seaside, Seagrove Beach, and WaterColor. Music fans near and far will unite in the Panhandle to enjoy the variety of music from the many highly esteemed songwriters and some new artists looking to build their fanbase. Along with great musical talent, the views of the Emerald Coast are sure to be a highlight for all who attend.
This event is produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and Russell Carter Artist Management, presented by Visit South Walton. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance to support the arts throughout the area. Special lodging packages are available for event goers for daily and weekly stays.
Gulf Place is the place to be each Saturday for art lovers. On the corner of 30A and Highway 393, artists and vendors have their work available for purchase. Along with fine art, handmade jewelry and pottery are highlights of the market place. All ages are welcome, with food and kid’s activities every weekend.
In Seaside, on January 23rd will be a screening of Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition with filmmaker Elam Stoltzfus. Stoltzfus is a 2014 “Artist in Residence” for the program Escape to Create, where he will be capturing video for a documentary on the coastal dune lakes in the area. The film follows four explorers over 100 days raising awareness about protecting wildlife corridor opportunities. This will be viewed from 7pm-9pm at the Seaside Meeting Hall Theater.
