Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) January 02, 2014
On December 1st, the iLoveKickboxing.com fitness studio in Ontario, Canada hosted a HINGA Breathe for the Philipines Fundraiser. Along with 12 other local fitness businesses, the studio collected donations for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda and Haiyan.
HINGA is the Tagalog (National Dialect of the Phillipines) word meaning “To Breathe”.
“I really liked the idea of focusing every breath on healing,” said Linda Watson, the owner of the Ontario location, “Our intention was to have every breath, every punch, every kick focused on healing the Philippines.”
iLoveKickboxing.com Ontario joined studios such as Moksha Yoga Thornhill, City Dance Corps, and energyXchange for the hour long meditation and movement class to rebuild and heal the Philippines.
100% of the funds were donated online through the Humanitarian Coalition, a group of Canadian charitable agencies. There has not been a grand total calculated but one member who takes kickboxing classes at iLoveKickboxing.com alone made a $500 donation.
“iLoveKickboxing.com members are rock stars!” expressed Watson. “Our members will do anything and everything in their power to help each other whether it is on the mat or across the Pacific Ocean.”
