Chintz Quilts from the Poos Collection Book Debuts in US
Overland Park, KS, USA (PRWEB) January 06, 2014 -- Chintz Quilts from the Poos Collection, a second book about the extraordinary Poos Collection debuts in the United States. This follow-up book to the successful Red and Green Quilts from the Poos Collections reveals some of the marvelous Chintz quilts from the Poos Collection. The Poos Collection is one of the largest privately held quilt and textile collections in the US and because of limited public access the eagerly awaited publications are the best way to view the collection. Until an appropriate venue is found for a repeat exhibition, this is the only way to experience these textile works of art.
The book contains 36 gorgeously photographed quilts and many detailed shots sprinkled throughout the text. It is divided into two sections, a catalog of the quilt exhibition that took place in Alsace France and a section on the history of chintz which adds to the reader’s general knowledge of chintz and fabric production. The text is enjoyable while comprehensive and is presented in both French and English.
Authors of the book include Kay Triplett, Curator of the Poos Collection, and a frequent writer for Quiltmania magazine. Xenia Cord contributed the history section and is a noted quilt historian and researcher, and an antique quilt dealer. The third author is Lori Lee Triplett, Business Manager for the Poos Collection who has written numerous magazine articles and more than 10 books.
