Burbank, CA (PRWEB) January 03, 2014
Facets PILATES(http://www.facebook.com/facetspilates), an independent Pilates studio offering private instruction and education in the Pilates method since 2002, announced today that CLASSICAL Pilates MAT CLASSES are now being offered at ANDRE’S MARTIAL ARTS. The facility is located in the BURBANK TOWN CENTER in downtown Burbank. Classes will be lead by Peak Pilates® Master Instructor and Facets PILATES founder Nadia Ahern.(http://www.peakpilates.com)
“I’m excited to bring the Classical form of Mr.Pilates work to the Media District and to partner with Andre’s Martial Arts.” said Nadia Ahern, who has been teaching Pilates for 15 years. “Most people think Pilates was solely a workout for dancers, but the truth is Mr.Pilates was a pugilist himself and NOT a dancer. He created a system to create and maintain a strong and healthy body that he hoped everyone could benefit from. Hosting Mat Classes at a facility specializing in Martial Arts education makes perfect sense!”
Burbank residents who have been looking for an economical option for taking classical Pilates outside of a private studio are excited about the mat classes, including long time Pilates fan Marva Felchlin:
“Pilates is worth the time & effort. You feel just right inside & out...One session & I was hooked. Of course I found the genius instructor Nadia Ahern who keeps me on point!”
Nadia Ahern established Facets PILATES in 2002 with the goal of educating people on how to improve their posture and day-to-day function through use of the Pilates system of movement, created by Joseph H. Pilates over 70 years ago. There is also accessibility in her approach to teaching Pilates-an exercise discipline that many find intimidating at first. She now carries that through to Pilates teacher candidates as Nadia was vetted amongst hundreds of candidates and chosen to be one of a small handful of Peak Pilates® Master Instructors to provide their educational courses and workshops in California.
Facets PILATES will provide the classes (the first of their kind in downtown Burbank) exclusively at Andre’s Martial Arts. The class will meet at 10am on Tuesdays. with more classes to follow. The studio is located on the 1st floor of the Burbank Town Center at 201 E.Magnolia in Burbank CA 91502. All levels of fitness are welcome and participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat to class. Fees are $15 per class or $100 for a package of 10. First time participants will receive 20% off their first 10 class purchase. Parking is ample and free.
