Star Spangled Banner Challenge a Rousing Success Going Into 2014 Bicentennial
(PRWEB) January 06, 2014 -- Madison Rising, America’s most patriotic rock band, is proud to announce they successfully completed their Five Million Star Spangled Banner Challenge (http://starspangledbannerchallenge.com) on Christmas Day, and have now set their sites on ten million. The goal of the Challenge was to achieve 5 million views on the band’s chilling rock rendition of the Star Spangled Banner (http://youtu.be/c8C7i9kdEf8) by December 31, 2013, and the band was able to close out the year with more than 20,000 more views than they had hoped.
As a result, the band has upgraded their Challenge and is now aiming for the rarified air of ten million views by September 14, 2014 – the 200 year bicentennial of the writing of the Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key as he watched the American flag rise over Ft. McHenry just outside of Baltimore on the morning of September 14, 1814 after more than 24 hours of relentless bombardment by the British.
“We plan to do everything we can to continue to re-energize the National Anthem for that bicentennial,” said Madison Rising lead singer Dave Bray, a navy veteran and former 8404 FMF Corpsman. “The mission of Madison Rising to help restore a sense of pride back into this country, and we're thrilled that it’s having that effect.”
Madison Rising released its widely acclaimed version of the Star Spangled Banner eighteen months ago and both the song and video have become huge hits throughout the country, catapulting the band into the national spotlight and creating one of the most loyal fan bases in rock music history. In conjunction with that release, the band launched their Star Spangled Banner Challenge as a way to offer Americans a fun and meaningful way to show their patriotism by watching the video and downloading the song to their iPods or other devices to play proudly in their cars, at the gym or anywhere else they want. “Awesome,” “deeply moving,” “chilling,” and “the best ever,” are just some of the superlatives used to describe Madison Rising’s rendition of the song that celebrates what being an American is all about.
On November 5th, Madison Rising released their second album – American Hero – dedicated to the men and women of our armed forces, along with the police, firefighters and other first responders. The album consists of ten tracks, anchored by the band’s best selling rendition of The Star Spangled Banner , and closing with a new, but equally powerful rock rendition of America The Beautiful.
Madison Rising is on a mission to reignite authentic American culture through great rock music. Madison Rising: Music with meaning.
