FacilitySource Announces Comprehensive Snow and Ice Management Program
Columbus, Ohio; Phoenix, Arizona; Racine, Wisconsin (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- With the season of snow and ice moving across the country, FacilitySource, the world leader in facility maintenance management for geographically dispersed real estate portfolios, announced today an enhanced Snow and Ice Management Program designed to help retail brands prepare for and quickly recover from inclement winter weather.
The Snow and Ice Management Program, which has already proven to be an invaluable service to retailers with stores or restaurants in high-risk regions like the U.S. Midwest and Northeast, includes several key features that help clients of FacilitySource prepare for and recover from a significant weather event as quickly and effectively as possible.
As with other FacilitySource programs, preparedness is the first component of the Snow and Ice Management Program. "Months before snow starts flying, our team conducts site reviews and creates detailed site maps and customized service plans for each contracted location,” said FacilitySource CEO, Bill Hayden. “Those service plans include designated snow storage areas, drainage paths, and entry and exit routes. Planning in this way maximizes the number of available parking spaces and optimizes traffic flow during the winter event, and it also minimizes potential problems with drainage and slick spots once the snow and ice start to melt.”
Next, FacilitySource identifies, screens, and secures a network of dependable and experienced snow and ice management professionals who are local to each store location. This vetting process, completed well before the onset of the winter season, ensures that the service providers assigned to each store location are the best in the area and can be relied upon to perform services as scheduled and according to the client’s performance standards. Then the customized site maps and service plans are shared with the contracted service providers so that they arrive on site knowing exactly how to manage the snow and ice at that particular location.
In addition to securing and preparing service providers for each impacted geographic location, FacilitySource also prepares for the winter season by retaining its own meteorological team to keep all stakeholders updated on weather conditions prior to and during weather events. This proprietary intelligence enables FacilitySource to put snow and ice management professionals on alert and quickly mobilize them to any store expected to receive significant snowfall or ice. Corporate leaders, as well as all affected store managers, are notified when inclement weather is expected, allowing them to adequately prepare as well.
Then, as snow and ice events unfold, FacilitySource deploys Field Service Coordinators to each impacted store location to work with the local service provider to ensure that the process and quality of work meets or exceeds pre-determined standards. Field Service Coordinators also engage with store managers to confirm that they are completely satisfied with all work performed. As the weather event progresses and services are performed, the Winter Services Team at FacilitySource provides site-level status updates to its clients’ corporate headquarters.
Finally, once the weather event has passed and all snow and ice management work has been completed, a detailed report for each affected location is compiled and submitted to the client.
The FacilitySource Snow and Ice Management Program is designed to provide clients with a comprehensive solution for dealing with snow and ice prior to, during and after the event. As Hayden explains, “Our pre-event planning, ongoing communication, on-site supervision, certified weather reporting, and consolidated invoicing enable our clients to remain focused on their business and their customers, even when winter weather strikes.”
