Huntsville, AL (PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- SVSi’s N1000, N2000, and N3000 encoders can now accept embedded digital 7.1 surround audio and packetize this into an audio stream routed separately from the video. The enhancement allows multi-channel audio to remain synchronous with the digital video but be routed to a separate audio sound system. This firmware upgrade also features an update to the encoder EDID that allows stereo audio to be input if that is all that is available. Updated device software allows the user to select whether stereo or 7.1 audio is input. SVSi’s ATR201 Audio Endpoint device down-mixes the 7.1 audio to two channels for stereo output. This allows both multi-channel and stereo-only audio systems to subscribe to the same stream. This 7.1 audio feature is part of the standard N-Series Networked AV solutions and is available today.
