Loeb & Loeb Expands Entertainment Practice in Washington, D.C. with Addition of Partner Robert M. Wise
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) January 06, 2014 -- Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Robert M. Wise has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Entertainment Department, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in the television and film industries.

Wise is an entertainment attorney whose practice currently focuses on representing independent television production companies in the negotiation of U.S. cable network deals and other transactions relating to the development, production, financing, distribution and licensing of non-scripted/reality television programs. Over the years, his clients have also included Hollywood studios, cable networks, online/digital channels, entertainment lenders and international film distributors, as well as individual producers, writers, directors, actors, reality television performers, and cable network executives.

Most recently, Wise was the principal of his own law firm, Wise Entertainment Law, which he formed in 2007. Prior to that, he was a partner at Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp. A former resident of Los Angeles, Wise moved to the D.C. area in 1993, where he served as a Senior Vice President at Discovery Communications, one of the largest nonfiction media companies in the world. While there, Wise built teams to handle business affairs and production management for several thousand hours of television programming annually and oversaw Discovery’s $750 million strategic alliance with the BBC, involving co-production of hundreds of hours of television programming and the launch of BBC America in the U.S. and other cable networks worldwide.
Wise earned his J.D. from Stanford University Law School and holds degrees from the University of Cambridge, England and the University of Michigan.
