"Leading Edge" Show With Host Jimmy Johnson Features New Content on Radiation Therapies
(PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases that claimes the lives of many people worldwide. Radiation therapy is a treatment that makes use of concentrated beam radiations to disintegrate the cancerous cells. The most common type of this treatment is the external beam radiation. The technique involves the use of a machine that concentrates highly-energized beams to the cells, thereby killing them.
With the growing concerns of the dangers and risks posed by the deadly disease, a lot in terms of civic education needs to be done. "Leading Edge", with host Jimmy Johnson, will be exploring the radiation therapy treatment as a way of shading more light on it.
The show will touch on questions that are burning in the hearts of many concerning the use of this therapy. The importance of this treatment tool and how it is used will be analyzed critically. For a long time now, the therapy has been used to alleviate the symptoms of cancer in the advanced stages. It is also the primary treatment that is offered to cancer patients and it also helps in killing any cancer cell that remains after the completion of surgery. Before a surgery is performed, the therapy is also used to shrink the tumors so that they are effectively removed. This and more will be featured in the next series of "Leading Edge" with your host Jimmy Johnson.
The show is not distributed through PBS, but is distributed to Public Television stations throughout the United States independently. See the Leading Edge website at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com or for information on how to become involved.
