Shimadzu Introduces New Particle Size Analyzer for Measurement of Nanoparticles in Life Sciences and R&D
Columbia, MD (PRWEB) January 06, 2014 -- Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc. has introduced the SALD-7500nano, a highly sensitive particle size analyzer that can accurately measure nanoparticles in low concentrations or those that demonstrate high light absorption. The analyzer also provides real-time tracing of changes across a wide range of particle sizes.
The SALD-7500nano analyzer offers significantly improved sensitivity for the analysis of nanoparticles. The system is capable of a wide measurement range, from primary particles to sub-visible particles (SVP) and contaminants, and allows measurements across a broad concentration range from 0.01 ppm to 20 percent. It enables measurement of micro bubbles from 100 nm to 60 μm and real-time tracking of changes in bubble diameter.
The SALD-7500nano features a single light source and wide-angle detection method, allowing high-speed measurement to a minimum of 1 second and real-time display of particle size distribution at 1-second intervals. Functions for statistical processing and 3D display of the particle reaction processes offer multifaceted analyses and evaluations.
The system uses an omnidirectional shock absorption frame (OSAF) to improve instrument stability and provide high reproducibility, while built-in self-diagnostic functions ensure easy maintenance. A number of data analysis functions, including data emulation and mixture data simulation, provide for more efficient data processing.
When used with Shimadzu’s new Aggregates Sizer Aggregation Analysis System, the analyzer enables measurement and analysis of SVP in biopharmaceuticals and can evaluate SVP concentrations that can induce allergic reactions and other severe side effects.
