AlignLife, Springfield Illinois, Donates 61 Toys to At-Risk Children at Local Nursery
Springfield, Illinois (PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- AlignLife, a locally owned chiropractic and natural health center, is excited to announce their raising of 61 new, unwrapped toys to the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery of Springfield, IL. The nursery’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for children who may be at risk or whose parents are experiencing some type of crisis. With the holiday season in full gear, AlignLife encouraged the Springfield community to donate to those in need throughout their communities, and set a goal of 50 toys donated. "There is a big need for this type of organization in our community. As a chiropractic and wellness facility, families and children are a big part of our practice. So when a group of people like the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery take a stand to protect children in need, we wanted very much to support them," said Dr. Bryne Willey, clinic director at AlignLife of Springfield. "And our patients stepped up in a very big way, so big it took us two trips to get them all here."
The Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery, one of only 6 crisis nurseries in the state of Illinois, served more than 2,700 children in the past year, and relies largely on donations and volunteering. In exchange for the donations of toys for the toy drive, AlignLife in turn donated over $3000 in services to those patients who participated in helping the clinic reach its goal with their donations.
