Boulder, CO (PRWEB) January 07, 2014

Hope Foods, parent company of Hope Hummus, Hope Dips, Hope Spreads and Hope Crafted, announced Monday the certification of all of its product lines by the Non-GMO Project. The Non-GMO Project, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, offers North America’s only third party verification and labeling for non-GMO (genetically modified organism) food and products.

Hope Foods has added this verification to its already considerable list of certifications, which include USDA Certified Organic, OU Kosher, and GFCO Certified Gluten Free.

“It has always been important for us to go the extra mile in assuring our consumers that we are who we claim to be. We make quality food from quality ingredients, and it is important to us that our consumers can trust that,” says Robbie Rech, Hope Foods president.

Matt Lanterman, who headed up the verification process for Hope Foods states, “When we adopted the ‘Live Differently, Honestly, Boldly’ slogan, we wanted to wanted to take it one step further beyond being USDA certified organic in order to ensure that our products are GMO free. This verification adds another level of transparency. We aim to communicate that we are sourcing the highest quality ingredients.”

The Product Verification Program uses a process that combines on-site facility audits, document-based review and product testing to verify compliance with the standard at every level of the supply chain, from manufacturing facilities to ingredient suppliers. The Non-GMO Project shares the belief with its verified partners that everyone deserves an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified organisms.

“Hope Foods is thrilled to certify all of its products as non-GMO verified. Transparency is at the heart of our company values and we are concerned with the direction of our food supply in the United States. This is one of our little ways to help support simple, healthy, and wholesome food,” says Rech.
