Online Retailer Headsweats Unveils Their Winter Wear Line

Cincinnati-based hat company Headsweats unveiled their winter line of beanies and hats based on their popular moisture-wicking hats for athletes. The company has also expanded their offerings to include industry-specific hats for chefs as well as hats for specific competitions like Iron Man and the Tour de France.

Headsweats, an online retailer based in Cincinnati, has unveiled their line of winter hats for athletes in response to the popularity of their classic line of sweat-managing hats. The winter selection includes over a dozen colors and styles, including base layers for under helmets and thermal reversible beanies that keep hard-working heads warm.

The company started producing their hats in 1998 when owner Alan Romick, an avid cyclist, was frustrated with the current selection of athletic hats available on the market.

“I was tired of heavy sweat blindness, sunscreen migration, and odd sunburn patterns from my helmet,” said Romick. “I set out to create a better hat to wear during athletic activities, and it just look off from there.” Athletes responded favorably--they loved the product Romick came up with, and the original hat became a hit with athletes on all playing fields.

The company experienced its first huge growth surge after their hat appeared in a picture about the Tour de France on the front of the New York Times. Now they’ve sold over one million hats, and show no signs of slowing down. In fact, they’ve expanded their selection to meet the needs of their customers.

“We had to introduce the winter line because we heard from so many customers that this was a need they had,” said Romick. “We listened to what they wanted and delivered it.”
