Applied DNA Sciences To Display SigNature® T Anti-counterfeiting Technology for Textiles at Heimtextil Trade Fair, January 8 – 11
STONY BROOK, NY (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- Applied DNA Sciences (OTCQB: APDN), (Twitter: @APDN), a provider of DNA-based anti-counterfeiting technology and product authentication solutions, announced today it will exhibit at the Heimtextil International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles in Frankfurt, Germany, from January 8 –11, 2013.
APDN will be participating under the auspices of the US Department of Commerce, and will be showing its new SigNature® T identity assurance platform for textiles. The platform is capable of protecting textiles and apparel from counterfeiting and dilution at any stage in the textile supply chain.
Heimtextil is the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles and is widely seen as the global benchmark for quality design textiles of innovative functionality.
APDN is one of only three textile technology companies which are exhibiting under the direction of the US Department of Commerce. Tom Gladtke – Director, Textile and Apparel Sales for APDN, commented:
“Heimtextil is the premier home furnishings textile show. This forum provides an excellent opportunity for APDN to showcase its state-of-the-art technology in brand protection and supply chain management.”
Visitors to the APDN booth (9.0 E09 - Hall 9, level 0, aisle E, booth 09) may discover more about the company’s new technology, which is already in production with Supima, the promotional association of American Pima cotton growers.
Supima is currently using SigNature T to protect nearly 50 million kilograms of raw, top-quality cotton fiber. Even at this scale, fiber can be pervasively marked using a single DNA marker, offering strong adhesion to the fiber, and providing a means to authenticate anywhere along the supply chain from fiber to the finished product; from distributor, to retailer, to consumer.
“We believe that the great success of this trial shows that the APDN anti-counterfeiting platform for textiles will be the worldwide gold standard for brand identity assurance in textiles. APDN can now mark massive volumes of product, on both American and foreign soils, and assure integrity of the textile supply chain at an unprecedented level.”
