Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) January 08, 2014
Secure64®, the leading provider of secure and self-protecting DNS server software, today announced the release of its DNS Cache version 3.1 software, which adds fine-grained query rate limiting to its existing comprehensive DNS distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) defenses. These defenses allow Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to protect their subscribers and their network during the wide variety of denial-of-service attacks, including amplified attacks, used by today’s attackers.
This latest release of DNS Cache adds the ability to rate limit by query type to its already industry-leading defenses, including rate limiting per client IP address, aggregate rate limiting, and protection from TCP SYN flood, reflected flood and cache poisoning attacks. It is the only DNS software or appliance ever to have its defenses tested by a third party laboratory against a variety of DDoS attacks.
“Denial of service attacks using or targeting DNS servers have become increasingly prevalent and sizable over the six years that we have been tracking them,” said Steve Goodbarn, CEO of Secure64. “CSPs have an increasingly difficult challenge to protect their subscribers’ experience in the face of today’s sophisticated attacks that threaten the availability of both the DNS servers and the network.”
“Secure64 has been focused on providing DNS server software that protects CSP networks from denial-of-service attacks since 2007”, says Joe Gersch, COO of Secure64. “Our customers have endured countless denial-of-service attacks and have never been taken out by an attack. By adding these enhancements to the latest version of DNS Cache, our users can identify and block attackers performing amplified flood attacks without disrupting legitimate users.”
DNS Cache 3.1 is available immediately.
