Telstra Becomes First Service Provider to Obtain MEF-CECP 2.0 Certification
Melbourne, Victoria Australia (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- The Carrier Ethernet Academy(CEA) congratulates Telstra on being the first service provider in the world to have its subject matter experts attain the new MEF-CECP 2.0 certification. With this achievement, Telstra is realizing its strategy of end-to-end excellence in its Carrier Ethernet services by developing Carrier Ethernet expertise in the teams who engineer, promote and support Telstra Wholesale’s MEF CE 2.0 E-Line certified Ethernet Access and Ethernet Backhaul service offerings.
Telstra joins a growing list of nearly 700 Carrier Ethernet Academy alumni – roughly half of the 1,500 worldwide MEF-CECPs. Telstra is the first service provider worldwide to take CEA’s revised MEF-CECP 2.0 Boot Camp class and successfully pass the MEF-CECP 2.0 exam. This year alone, the Carrier Ethernet Academy has provided on-site training on six of the seven continents, underscoring the Carrier Ethernet Academy’s world-wide reputation as the leading provider of MEF-CECP training, and strengthening its global position as the top MEF-Accredited Training Provider (MEF-ATP).
“Telstra is committed to delivering excellence in our Ethernet product portfolio,” said David Robertson, Director of Transport and Routing Engineering. “We’ve not only achieved the MEF’s CE 2.0 E-Line Certification for our Wholesale Ethernet Access and Ethernet Backhaul products, but we’re now backing those products with certified professionals in Telstra Engineering, as well as in our Wholesale Product and Sales teams.”
“Telstra’s participation in the MEF’s Professional Certification (MEF-CECP) program demonstrates their recognition that offering best-in-class Ethernet services requires expertise within the ranks of the professionals whose job it is to deliver those services.” said Craig Easley, President and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Carrier Ethernet Academy.
