eQuorum Announces ImageSite Mobile – Secure Access to Engineering Data for Mobile Devices
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- Because it is becoming increasingly important to make an organization's engineering documents and drawings securely accessible to anyone with a mobile device, eQuorum Corporation announces ImageSite Mobile for all mobile devices, including iPads, Android tablets, or other common devices. ImageSite Mobile uses HTML5 technology so as to be mobile device agnostic, allowing the use of any mobile device browser, without needing to download or to maintain any device apps. Files Never Leave Corporate Servers
By keeping files on secure corporate servers residing in a document management system, and using SSL technology to secure transmission of file images, files are always secure since users only have access to document and drawing images using vectors (links). File security is ensured as ImageSite manages all user access privileges to files; including viewing, downloading, copying, and emailing. So users only have access rights as established by the corporate ImageSite administrator. When employees leave the organization, access to all files can be withdrawn instantly with a single action, rather than needing to de-authorize the user from every corporate application.
ImageSite Mobile allows access to engineering drawings and documents while in the field, on the shop floor, or while travelling; all in a secure environment. Favorite documents are identified easily making it fast for users to access the content they use frequently. For situations where users may not have Wi-Fi or cellular connections, ImageSite Mobile allows users to download documents and drawings so they can be viewed in an offline mode; but only if they have appropriate access rights. These “offline documents” are not file downloads but images of the documents that are securely maintained on the device and easily removed by the ImageSite administrator.
As images, not files, are delivered to the mobile device, almost any file type can be displayed, including CAD drawings, without needing a separate viewer or application; the browser becomes the universal viewer. This saves users from needing costly viewer licenses for proprietary file formats.
Non-corporate users can view documents and drawings outside the corporate network by using ImageSite’s eSync=Site module, permitting collaboration and simultaneous viewing of key documents with contractors, vendors, and customers.
Mobile Access With eSync=Site
eSync=Site is eQuorum's newest module for the ImageSite suite of products, allowing the synchronization of folders and files across multiple servers and locations, with comprehensive ImageSite security built in. Distributed files are automatically kept up-to-date regardless of who revised them on any synched server. According to Mr. Brandt “this is a great way to provide secure mobile device access to internally stored files through synchronization with an external (Internet connected) ImageSite server, either cloud based or outside the corporate network.” Personal and confidential files are kept behind the corporate firewall and are never available to third parties that don’t have access to the corporate network.
