ticketscript Announces the Most Successful Festive Season to Date
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 9 January 2014 -- ticketscript today announced that it has experienced the most successful festive season to date, reinforcing its promise to help event organisers “sell more." This follows the company’s recent milestone of selling over 10 million tickets at a value of over £200m.
More than 7,000 New Year’s Eve events across Europe chose to use ticketscript, with all December events generating gross ticket sales in excess of £10m. In the UK specifically, tickets sold by existing clients increased by 58% YOY.
Frans Jonker, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are proud to finish 2013 on such a high and it gives us the fuel and enthusiasm to kick start what we know will be an exciting year for the company.
2013 was filled with many key milestones and successes. Our stand-alone growth increased another 49%, we launched our rebrand and new corporate website, and provided our solution to over 25,000 events. Since instilling the ‘sell more’ culture throughout the business, it is evident our customers are reaping the rewards.”
The company has seen a growing trend that ticket buyers across the board are waiting closer and closer to the event to purchase their tickets; as well as a rise in buyers opting for mobile tickets and purchasing through social channels, such as Facebook. Jonker commented: “It’s interesting to see how ticket buying trends are changing, with almost 20% of tickets sold last month taking place during the last three days of the year. As our recent survey revealed, people like to have the ability to buy tickets right up to the start of the event online, a basic requirement of modern day life that is denied by the classic ticketing model.
As we have seen throughout the year, the demand for mobile tickets is growing at an incredible rate. December saw an increase in mobile ticket sales by 69% YOY - making up 7.2% of the ticketing type mix versus 5.4% in December 2012. We have also seen a rise in ticket buyers purchasing through Facebook, with 12% of the tickets last month being sold through this sales channel, which is a 61% increase YOY.
These trends are demonstrating a need for a new approach to on-demand ticketing. We are looking forward to announcing a raft of new developments and initiatives in 2014 that will enable our customers to deliver a better customer experience, gain greater insight and sell even more."
