Arlington, TX (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- Mensa Mind Games ® is one of the leading board game showcase competitions in the United States. This year, Mensa Mind Games will be hosted by the Austin Mensa Chapter at the Hilton Austin in Austin, Texas on April 18-20. In addition to the new Recommended Category, the time span for entry-to-market by manufacturers has been increased. Now, games that enter the board game market anytime between June 1, 2012 and June 1, 2014 are eligible for the competition. “There are so many great games entering the market and we didn’t want to limit access to those that are just beginning to see momentum with their product,” says John McGill, Marketing Director for American Mensa. “We want manufacturers to be able to use this designation to push their creation even closer to the top of every game player’s wish list.” The early bird rate for manufacturers to enter their products is $200 through March 21, 2014. The deadline to enter the competition is March 28, 2014.
For more than two decades, American Mensa has presented Mensa Mind Games as a way for Mensa members who are devoted to the art of board gaming to select their favorite new games. Manufacturers from across the globe submit their games to compete for the Mensa Select Seal as well as for the valuable market research they receive from their targeted audience: dedicated board gamers. Past winners include Apples To Apples®, Forbidden Island®, Qwirkle®, Taboo™, and many more.
