Greenberg Traurig Continues Expansion of Corporate and Financial Regulatory and Compliance Practices
NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- Wendy Li has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, as a shareholder in its Corporate & Securities and Financial Regulatory and Compliance practices. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Li practiced at Patton Boggs as a partner in its New York office.
Li focuses her practice on matters related to banking and bank regulatory, securities, mergers and acquisitions, funds, and educational law. She frequently represents Asian companies, including banks, and international education institutions doing business in the United States.
"Wendy adds depth and a significant dimension to our regulatory and transactional capabilities in New York and around the world,” said Richard A. Rosenbaum, the chief executive officer of Greenberg Traurig. “Now, more than ever, companies based in Asia and other parts of the globe are looking to expand their businesses to the United States. Wendy will navigate clients through this process in a strategic, efficient manner.”
She counsels international financial institutions, multinational businesses, major swap participants, funds, and energy and infrastructure firms that are active in capital markets, debt and project financings and derivatives trading. In addition, Li has advised international education institutions in their corporate formation and Higher Education Act related matters.
Li is experienced representing clients before the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve Board, and various state and federal banking regulators, as well as advising international financial institutions seeking to open agencies, branches, brokerage subsidiaries and representative offices in the United States.
"Wendy's knowledge of the Asian market coupled with her global and U.S. corporate and regulatory experience will add tremendous value to our global practice," said Patricia Menéndez-Cambó, chair of the firm's Global Practice and co-chair of the Global Energy and Infrastructure Practice.
