PSC to Host Tampa “Industry-Only” Session on Upcoming SOCOM Services Contract
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) January 09, 2014 -- The Professional Services Council (PSC) is hosting an industry-only session regarding the United States Special Operations Command’s (SOCOM) upcoming Wide Mission Support (SWMS) contract opportunity on January 22, 2014, at the Tampa Marriott Westshore in Tampa, Florida. The session will be held from 9:00 a.m. until noon. SWMS will be the successor contract to SOCOM’s current Global Battlestaff and Program Support (GBPS) contract that expires in the spring of 2015.
The session will provide interested companies with an opportunity to discuss any portion of SOCOM’s draft SWMS acquisition strategy, which SOCOM expects to release by January 13. PSC has been asked to provide SOCOM with insight from the PSC-hosted industry day into how other federal entities procure services similar to those included in SWMS and industry’s views on best practices for partnering with SOCOM for the upcoming SWMS initiative.
While SOCOM will provide opening remarks at the January 22 industry-only session, they will not be present for the industry dialogue portion of the forum.
Registration for the January 22, 2014 session is free and open to all interested parties. However, advance registration is required by January 17. Company representatives wishing to register for the event, click here and include your name, title and company name.
Media representatives wishing to attend the event should contact PSC Media Relations Manager Elise Castelli at the email address provided. Editors please note that press is welcome to attend the opening presentation by the government representatives, which is on the record. The “industry-only” dialogue following that presentation is, however, off the record.
