Loyola University New Orleans’ School of Nursing is Ranked Among Best Online Nursing Programs for Third Straight Year
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) January 09, 2014 -- The School of Nursing at Loyola University New Orleans continues to excel, earning top rankings for a third year in a row among the 2014 Best Online Program Rankings published by U.S. News & World Report on January 7, 2014. The 2014 Best Online Program Rankings marks the third year that the guide has been published with ranking methodologies based on various common factors measuring five categories: Student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, peer reputation and admissions selectivity.

Loyola’s online graduate nursing program was measured as one of 471 CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited graduate degree granting institutions offering fully online programs, that met the criteria set forth by the U.S. Department of Education’s definition of an online [distance] education program.
For the third year in a row, Loyola continues to receive designation with top rankings in five distinguishing areas:
• 3rd in Student Engagement and Accreditation (maintained from 2013)
• 6th in Overall Best Online Graduate Nursing program (maintained from 2013)
• 8th in Student Services and Technology (maintained from 2013)
• 23rd in Admissions Selectivity (up from 24th in 2013)
• 29th in Faculty Credentials and Training (up from 32nd in 2013)
Loyola University New Orleans was also ranked 9th Best Master's University in the South, 7th in its Best Value Schools [previously Great Schools, Great Prices] category and among the top 10 largest online graduate programs. For the last 23 years, Loyola has retained its position among the top 10 regional universities in the South.
