The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has appointed Kershing Goh to Regional Director, Americas, based in the New York Office.
As Regional Director, Goh will lead all business development and marketing efforts in the Americas region, overseeing the Americas team and driving strategies that affirm and enhance Singapore’s position as a dynamic, global city.
“Kershing is a seasoned tourism professional with more than 15 years of experience working with the Singapore Tourism Board. Based in the United States (US) for the past eight years, she is very familiar with the US market and has a deep understanding of Singapore and our tourism objectives,” said Yue Kheong Leong, Assistant Chief Executive, International Group, Singapore Tourism Board. “We are thrilled to welcome Kershing back as the Regional Director, Americas, and look forward to her contributions, especially in strengthening our relations with the travel trade and stakeholders.”
Goh re-joins STB Americas after three years as the Country Manager USA for the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi). In that role, Goh oversaw the Authority’s U.S. operations – opening the U.S. office for Abu Dhabi Tourism and mapping out the short and long-term strategy of entrenching Abu Dhabi in the U.S. market.
Prior to joining TCA Abu Dhabi, Goh spent 15 years with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), serving in a variety of senior positions including destination product development, thematic zones master-planning, marketing communications as well as overseas operations. As the Regional Director, Americas of the Singapore Tourism Board from 2005 to 2010, Goh managed STB’s offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Under her leadership, the Americas market saw double-digit growth, and more importantly, her innovative approach towards branding the destination helped place Singapore on the world map as a pioneering innovator. Goh is also an adjunct professor at the New York University Tisch Center for Hospitality Tourism and Sports Management, where she teaches a graduate program on Tourism Planning.
“There is a great opportunity to further expand our communications and business development strategy in the Americas,” said Goh. “I’m very excited to lead those efforts – helping take our plans to the next level, driving increased awareness for what Singapore has to offer to both the business and leisure traveler.”
Goh succeeds Serene Tan, who has completed her term as Regional Director, Americas and returned to Singapore.
