Record Occupancies for Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences
Cancun, Quintana Roo (PRWEB) January 09, 2014 -- Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences, with resort properties in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, Mexico, report a record average occupancy rate of 85 percent in 2013 among its six properties in the region, including Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park, Sunset Marina Resort & Yacht Club, Sunset Fishermen Resort, Ocean Spa, Laguna Suites and Sunset Royal Beach Resort, with a commitment to maintain its growth in 2014 as a provider of one of the best vacation experiences in the Mexican Caribbean.
During the company's traditional Rosca de Reyes breakfast marking the Christmas Season arrival of the Three Kings and the sharing of traditional rosca bread, Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences CEO Orlando Arroyo Marroquín told 80 members of local press from Cancun and the Riviera Maya that the 2013 occupancy rates are an excellent example of superseding a goal of 83 percent occupancies and reaching 98 percent in demand in some months of the high season.
The company also reported that the general occupancy segment in 2013 was comprised of 62 percent vacation club stays and 38 percent hotel nights. The 2013 market saturation included 40 percent U.S., 26 percent Mexico, 22 percent Latin America, 11 percent Canada and 2 percent from other parts of the world.
"With pride I can say that we were not the only ones with a good year. Cancun and the Riviera Maya also had an excellent 2013, almost the same as 2012, the best year we have had," explained Arroyo Marroquín. He also commented that if taxes would affect the tourist activity in 2014, there would be sufficient intelligence and ability to do well, as the destination has in its 40 years of existence, with resources such as promotion, publicity and sales strategies.
The Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences CEO also shared that his company is working on the opening of a new hotel in the Tres Rios ecotourism complex, which would be the second phase of the Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park, with anticipated completion by the end of 2014. Other plans include new promotional programs for the American and Canadian markets, and adding and opening offices in South America.
"Colombia represents 60 percent of the South American market for us and we are going to reinforce our office in Brazil. In Venezuela, we are initiating a new venture with Erika Garcia, CEO of Yucatan Holidays," Arroyo Marroquín added.
He emphasized as well that 2014 would be a strong year for TravelBook, a travel agency aligned with the same high standards of vacation experiences in Mexico and the Caribbean, directed by his son, Solomon Arroyo. TravelBook promotes and sells lodging and travel to Mexico and Cancun in particular, with the support of the Office of Visitors and Conventions. "For 2014 and for the future, we have to work every day and continue assisting you through a distribution of good news," said Arroyo Marroquín.
TravelBook has commercial alliances with major hotel companies and the capacity to offer up to 1,300 hotels and multiple tourist centers throughout Mexico, adding new international destinations and endless tourist possibilities each day. TravelBook offers all aspects of travel services including packages with airline ticket, all inclusive hotel and tours, customized to the needs of each client.
"TravelBook is a product not only of experience in the tourism sector but also of a constant commitment to knowledge and training," emphasized Solomon Arroyo, TravelBook CEO. "We maintain the strictest hotel standards thanks to our continual presence in the most important tourism industry trade shows nationally and internationally. "
In addition to the importance of TravelBook in 2014, Arroyo Marroquín mentioned Ethos, Farm in the Forest, the company's innovative project 21 miles from Cancun where organic honey, fruits and vegetables are grown for their properties' restaurants and exotic ornamental flowers are grown for their hotel lobbies, keeping with the Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences Mission to regain a healthier lifestyle and maintain a sustainable vision.
Finally, he announced the 2014 Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences event schedule to include five signature Sunset World destination event traditions that will add value to vacation experiences not only for Sunset World members and guests but for tourists coming to Cancun and the Riviera Maya. The destination event schedule will include: The Fourth Annual Hacienda Tres Rios Triathlon with swimming, biking and running which will add Olympic and youth categories to the sprint format this year (300 participants registered in 2013); The Second Annual Sunset World Pop Culture Fest celebrating the roots, folklore and traditions of Mexico; The Mayan Tibetan Festival, combining both unique cultures for the first time and highlighting ceremonies of purification and search for spiritual tranquility; The Seventh Annual Charlie & Friends Half Marathon in Cancun featuring 21 km,, 10 km., 5 km. walking and running events and a 3 km. baby carriage race; and the Third Annual Sunset Boat Parade, kicking off the Christmas season in the Mexican Caribbean (15 boats and 400 people participated in 2013).
