Nexus 2014 Announces Keynote Speaker: Outspoken Innovation Expert Vivek Wadhwa
New York City, New York (PRWEB) January 11, 2014 -- Renowned tech critic and commentator Vivek Wadhwa will keynote “Nexus 2014” – the most influential conference for the fast-emerging Latin America IT and BPO marketplace. The conference theme is centered around “innovation and acceleration” which are critical enablers to the continued rise of Nearshore professional services outsourcing.
Wadwa, an outspoken critical of the slow-moving immigration reform in the U.S, will speak on the importance of increased tech collaboration across the Western Hemisphere. He is uniquely suited to serve as the event’s keynote speaker. He has earned such accolades as being named one of the “Most Influential Minds in Tech” by TIME Magazine, served as an instrumental advisor in the creation of StartUp Chile, and authored “The Immigrant Exodus: Why America is Losing the Global Race to Capture Entrepreneurial Talent (named a 2012 Book of the Year by the Economist).
Currently, Wadhwa serves as the Vice President of Innovation and Research at Singularity University. The Nexus brand seeks to bring clarity to an evolving outsourcing industry, which must respond to customers’ twin demands for innovation and acceleration.
In addition to addressing customers’ demands for innovation and efficiency, where these demands diverge, and how to interpret and meet customers’ needs, Nexus 2014 will focus on three other vital contemporary themes in outsourcing. These will include “The CXO Circle,” an examination of the trend for chief business leaders to seek revitalization of their organizations through outsourcing; “Geographic Sprints,” an examination of the four unique regions of the Americas, complete with panel discussions and analysis; and “Expansion Equation,” an in-depth analysis of the potential for the Latin American outsourcing industry to grow and how it will shape the marketplace.
Wadhwa will be joined by other prominent industry leaders, including Blanca Treviño. Treviño is the President and CEO of Softtek, which she was a founding member of in 1982. Named by Forbes as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Mexico,” one of the “Top 25 Businesswomen” by the Latin Business Chronicle, and as the first woman inducted into the International Association of Outsourcing Providers’ Outsourcing Hall of Fame, Treviño has proven to be one of the industry’s most influential minds. Softtek is a global IT leader, recognized for its role as one of the few non-Indian outsourcing providers to maintain a competitive edge in the U.S. marketplace.
Other speakers bringing their expertise to Nexus 2014 will include Kirk Laughlin, the managing director of Nearshore Americas; Alfred Pacheco, CEO of CANIETI and MexicoIT; Peter Ryan, principal analyst at Ovum; and Rhonda Vetere, CTO at Estee Lauder Companies.
