TruWest® Credit Union Offers ‘WISH’ to First-Time Home Buyers
Tempe, Arizona (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- TruWest® Credit Union has made WISHes come true this year by giving Phoenix and Austin families cash assistance with down payments on homes using federal funds. The Workforce Initiative Subsidy for Homeownership (WISH) program pairs low- to middle-income families with the funds necessary to get into their first home. Grant funds are available on a first come, first served basis as long as escrow opens by March 31, 2014.
And right now, there are enough funds to help 12 more families in the communities served by TruWest put an additional $15,000 down on the house of their dreams. For each dollar the buyer contributes, TruWest pays $3 from the WISH grant, up to $15,000 per family.
“The most difficult obstacle for me to overcome in buying a home for my family was coming up with the down payment,” says Dustin L., the most recent WISH recipient. “The process was easy. In fact, I applied online at truwest.org, and within a week, completed the housing counseling course that the WISH program requires. Within a month, I found my house and made an offer.”
Some restrictions apply for buyers to be eligible for WISH program funds. For example, individuals must meet normal credit qualifications and income eligibility guidelines to receive funds. Read more at http://truwest.org/mortgage/wish-program.
