Well known Latina owned and operated commercial casting company and short films producer, Del Valle Productions, Inc., recently launched a scripted comedy web series “Reasons Y I’m Single” at http://www.ReasonsY.com.
The web series, comprised of short videos, presents the audience with a twist of relentless humor to a realistic urban life setting; untold day-to-day experiences of middle aged single women.
The comedy series is about three middle class, single women ages 30-40, namely Joan, Doris and Gina who met as children in a support group for divorced tweens. Produced in New York City, the series delves into funny experiences that offer clear Reasons as to Y they are still single.
“It’s Curb Your Enthusiasm meets Sex-less in the City with a Nuyorican twist” says Writer/Director, Elaine Del Valle who was named Trendsetter at the 2013 Multicultural Media Forum.
"We are turning awkward into awesome," added co-writer Holie Barker.
Each webisode is between 2 and 7 minutes for fast laughs and are aptly named for a Reason Y, including “#39A: You’re a Defensive Latina”, “#42 You’re a Facebook Stalker” and “#52: I Tweet Jay Z”.
Main casts: Holie Barker (also a co-writer) plays the naive and soft natured Joannie, Emmy Winner Gina Tuttle plays the role of sarcastically witty Gina and Elaine Del Valle has the role of fervent and imposing Latina Doris.
Currently the comedy series are at five hilarious episodes and growing. The series was recently reviewed as “Boldly Hilarious!!”
“We will shoot our next episode "Ode to Luis Antonio Ramos-The Oscars" later this month. It’s a ‘who’s on first’ skit of Latino actors in Hollywood with a cameo appearance by well known Latino actor Luis Antonio Ramos." (Ramos is currently starring in the Starz network new crime drama, "Power" from producer and co-star Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.) "It'll launch around Oscar time and fulfills the mission to represent what's current in pop & Latino culture in a funny way.” Says Del Valle.
