StatGear’s Auto Survival Kit Helps Save Lives Amid Cold Weather and Accidents Across the US

Goldstein, who is a NY City Paramedic, explained that the purpose of the patent-pending kit design was to keep life-saving tools and supplies within an arm’s reach in the event of an emergency.

In fact, Tuesday’s low in Chicago reached a record for the date of minus 16 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 27 Celsius), beating the mark of minus 14 set in 1884 and 1988, according to the National Weather Service.
It dipped to 4 degrees in New York, breaking a record for the date set in 1896.
Today (Wednesday), New York is expected to struggle to reach a high of 10 degrees.
The cold and icy weather, a historically large contributor to auto accidents, is part of a pattern of extreme weather that occurs every decade or so, according to forecasters.
