Dogs Unlimited Reviews the 2014 Shot Show in Las Vegas
Hudson, CO (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 -- Mid January is when the NSSF Shot Show, the trade show for all professionals involved with the shooting sports, hunting and law enforcement industries, rolls into Las Vegas and Dogs Unlimited was there to check out all the new dog training and upland and waterfowl products that will become available in 2014.
As Alan O Davison owner of Dogs Unlimited says, "This is where we get to see all the new upland and waterfowl equipment that's coming out in 2014. Some are from folks we've been doing business with a long time, all the way back to 1971, and others are folks trying to break into the industry."
This years Shot Show saw a record number of attendees, in excess of 67,000. All of them walking the miles of isles in hopes of finding new and interesting items to offer their customers. Many established retailers went from vendor to vendor taking private meetings with their suppliers to see the new items they have planned for the upcoming year. Dogs Unlimited's Alan O Davison was no different.
"It's vital that we make an appearance at the Shot Show. We get to put faces to names and also see what new items are on their way to the marketplace. This year has been excellent for this purpose and it seems all our suppliers are coming out with new and next generation products." says Davison.
This was very evident stopping by the Boyt Harness Company booth where there are many new items coming out under the Mud River Dog Products brand. New products include a larger 2 Barrel Utility Mat seat cover for larger sized vehicles, new waterfowl gear including backpacks, duffel bags, coolers, floating gun cases and blind bags. Also, they've added a new version of the Hoss Dog Food Bag called the Magnum Hoss which holds a full 30 lbs of food and has a storage compartment for food and water bowls, supplements and other gear. Additionally many of Mud River's existing items that come in brown or taupe will also be offered in Realtree Max 5 camo.
SportDog Brand is another company coming out this year with new and next generation gun dog training electronics. Expect to see their vision of the remote launch bird release system later this spring as well as and update to the TEK GPS Dog Tracking Collar.
Davison says, "We're really excited to see what SportDog Brand is coming out with this year. The new bird launcher is great, it's compatible with some of their Series A electronic training dog collar transmitters. Now our customers will be able to train their gun dogs and launch a bird with a single transmitter. This will certainly reduce a lot of confusion for a lot of our customers."
Dogs Unlimited also met with many of their other product suppliers including DT Systems, Garmin, Filson, Browning, Dogtra, Avery Outdoors and Dokken Dog Supply to name a few. All of them gearing up for a great 2014.
New entries into the marketplace were on the agenda as well, bringing new ideas and approaches to gun dog training and bird hunting.
As Davison explains, "Sometimes its hard to get into our industry but when you have something special you can make a splash and get everyone's attention. It looks like we may have some new players and we're excited about that."
One of these "new" players is E-Collar Technologies. Though they've been around for only a few years their pedigree goes back decades. Their founder is Greg Van Curen, who was a founder of Innotek, one of the original electronic dog training collar manufacturers. Their current line-up of e-collars are innovative and fresh and the new items coming out later 2014 are exciting too.
