Bennett Thrasher Adds Four New Professionals and Elevates Five to Partnership
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 13, 2014 -- Bennett Thrasher LLP, one of the largest Atlanta-based, full-service accounting, audit and consulting firms, and the firm’s affiliate, BT Wealth Management, are pleased to announce that the addition of four professionals: Ryan Carter, Amy Garrison, Terri Munro and Darla Worsham. In addition, the firm has elevated five of the firm’s CPAs to partnership, effective January 1. The CPAs include Christopher Benner, Matthew Grosvenor, Timothy Oberst, Rick Rosell and Timothy Watt.
The following four professionals have joined Bennett Thrasher LLP.
Ryan Carter joins as a Manager in the Personal Financial Services practice. He brings more than 10 years of experience in providing financial advisory services to clients in the areas of cash flow planning, retirement planning, income tax planning, wealth transfer planning and concentrated stock options. He was previously with Ernst & Young LLP. Carter received his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Masters of Taxation from Georgia State University. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and an Enrolled Agent (EA).
Amy Garrison joins as the Director of Practice Growth. She will oversee the firm’s overall growth strategy and related business development activities supporting the primary service lines and key industry segments. She was previously with Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Garrison received her undergraduate degree from Auburn University.
Terri Munro joins the firm’s affiliate, BT Wealth Management, as Associate Advisor. She is responsible for client relationship management, comprehensive financial planning, portfolio management, investment research, operations and business development. For more than 10 years, she has worked with clients regarding financial planning, and has developed a niche practice helping women achieve financial independence. Munro is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). She received her undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College and obtained a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University. She is a member of the Financial Planners Association of Georgia and the National Association of Professional Women.
Darla Worsham joins the firm as a Senior Manager in the Client Accounting Services department. She brings more than 15 years of C-level management experience in a variety of industries. Her experience includes financial planning, cash management and budgeting, debt restructuring and corporate reorganization, lean manufacturing processing, and business process analysis, among others. Worsham was previously chief financial officer at Aldridge Connors, LLP. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee.
The following five CPAs have been promoted to partnership.
Christopher Benner was promoted to Tax Partner in the firm’s Personal Financial Services practice. He has experience providing comprehensive financial planning advice to small business owners, attorneys, corporate executives and other high-net-worth individuals. Benner is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). He is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and is a member of the Personal Financial Planning Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Benner is also a member of the Georgia State University Financial Planning Alumni Association.
Matthew Grosvenor was promoted to Financial Reporting and Assurance partner in the firm’s Healthcare practice. He has 17 years of experience working with hospital systems and other health care providers, and most recently served as the system controller for one of the largest hospital systems in Atlanta. Grosvenor received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee. He is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA).
Timothy Oberst was promoted to Tax Partner in Bennett Thrasher’s Manufacturing and Distribution practice. For more than 10 years, he has coordinated income tax engagements for closely-held corporations, partnerships, not-for-profit organizations and individuals. He has significant experience in corporate, partnership, estate, gift and trust taxation, serving public charities and private foundations and tax research. Oberst is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Rick Rosell was promoted to Tax Partner in the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution practice. He has provided advisory and compliance services for more than 10 years. He has broad experience with corporate taxation, specializing in tax compliance and FAS 109/Income tax provision preparation and review. Additionally, Rosell works with clients regarding individual, partnership and S-corporation taxation matters. Rosell is a licensed CPA in Georgia and North Carolina. He is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Timothy Watt was promoted to Tax Partner in the firm’s Real Estate & International practice. He has more than 12 years of experience focusing on complex tax consulting and compliance engagements for domestic investors, developers, contractors, managers and other closely-held real estate concerns. Watt is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
