GBH CPAs, PC Merges in Prather Kalman, PC and Will be One of the 25 Largest CPA Firms in Houston
Houston, TX (PRWEB) January 10, 2014 -- GBH CPAs, PC and Prather Kalman, PC have announced today that they have merged their practices under the GBH name effective January 1, 2014. The combined firm of about 40 employees is now one of Houston’s 25 largest CPA firms.
“Prather Kalman has been serving privately-held businesses in the Houston marketplace for many years.” stated Gail Prather, President of Prather Kalman. “Prather Kalman and GBH each have specialties and experience, when combined, offer a greater depth of service. This merger is a natural fit and one that would offer our clients and our staff many positive opportunities and benefits.”
“We have known Prather Kalman for many years and have always respected their firm," commented Jeff Houston, CEO of GBH. “Given our complementary strengths in public and private business and our shared vision, we look forward to deploying our larger combined resources to the marketplace. Prather Kalman significantly broadens our tax advisory practice and brings us new service lines in its valuation, litigation support and consulting practices.”
Expanded Services for Public & Private Companies
The combined firm will bring a unique offering of financial services to the marketplace. Beyond just the Houston community, GBH’s footprint extends internationally to every continent but Antarctica. The new firm offers comprehensive audit, tax, advisory and valuation services (including ESOPs) to public and private companies in the bio-tech, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, mining, non-profit, professional services and technology markets.
In addition to its breadth of services, the firm’s unique experience and background provide the marketplace with real world experience. “We haven’t spent our whole career in public accounting. While the majority of our partners had extensive careers in large multi-national CPA firms, we also spent a significant portion of our careers in industry executive roles as Presidents, CFO’s and Controllers within public and private companies. We are truly business people, not just accountants.” said Jeff Houston, the firm’s CEO.
Workplace Excellence
David Grossman, the firm’s COO, said, “GBH has long been recognized as a fastest growing company and best places to work by Houston's FAST 100 Growing Companies for 2012, Inside Public Accounting Best of the Best Firms 2013 and 2012; an All-Star Firm 2013, 2012 and 2011; Houston’s Best Places to work 2012, 2010 and 2008; and Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firm to Work for the last 5 years running.
