DrupalCon Austin Registration Now Open
Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 13, 2014 -- Today the Drupal Association, the nonprofit organization that produces DrupalCon events and helps the Drupal open source project flourish, announced the opening of registration for DrupalCon Austin. About 4,000 developers, website designers, marketers, IT managers and business executives are expected to attend the event at the Austin Convention Center June 2 - 6. DrupalCon Austin will feature a full week of sessions, training courses, keynotes, vendor exhibits, and code sprints. Much of the content will focus on the highly anticipated upcoming release of Drupal 8.
“DrupalCon Austin is going to be an important event for anyone who wants to ensure they are up to speed on Drupal 8,” said Holly Ross, Executive Director of the Drupal Association. “There will be an enormous amount of high quality content that focuses on all of the great things there are to love about Drupal 8, as well as how to prepare for it and use it to its full potential. This is a big year for Drupal and DrupalCon Austin will serve as an important milestone.”
Open source Drupal is one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) in the world and has been downloaded more than 12 million times. Drupal.org, the community’s online home, has more than 1 million user profiles representing community members all over the world.
“Austin is fun, smart, vibrant and diverse, just like the Drupal community,” said Todd Ross Nienkerk, Digital Strategist and Partner at Austin-based Drupal web design and development firm Four Kitchens. “No other event packs as much learning, business and fun into one week, and we’re excited DrupalCon and Austin are finally coming together.”
In conjunction with the opening of registration, the call for content and applications for financial assistance have also been opened. The DrupalCon Austin website has more information about grants and scholarships, as well as how to submit content ideas. https://austin2014.drupal.org/
