Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) January 13, 2014

Santa Barbara–based Elite Meetings International, Inc. announced that its first Elite Meetings Alliance (EMA) of 2014 is set to take place at Bacara Resort & Spa, January 26–28, 2014.

The EMA is a three-day, invitation-only event that brings together prequalified corporate and association planners with leaders in the luxury hotel industry to cultivate relationships and build business. It centers on private, personalized business development meetings, continuing education breakout sessions for CMP credit, and unique networking activities.

"We are thrilled to welcome the EMA back to our hometown,” said EMI’s Chief Executive Officer Kelly Foy. “We’ve been wanting to bring this event back to Santa Barbara since launching it here in 2006. We’re looking forward to welcoming our attendees to one of the most beautiful places on earth, while getting some serious business done.”

Since the first EMA launched in Santa Barbara in 2006, the shows have taken place everywhere from Hawaii to Colorado, New York, Nevada, and Florida. The next EMA, April 27–29, 2014, will be held in Cancun, Mexico, at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Cancun Resort & Spa.

The education lineup at Bacara Resort & Spa will cover topics ranging from disaster preparation to contract issues, technology solutions, international meeting planning, and time management in the age of schedule overload. Attendees will also make a difference in the community through teambuilding activities with Santa Barbara–based Dream Foundation, the first and largest national wish-granting organization for adults.
Attending meeting planners, whose combined yearly group-business transactions top $60 million, will have the opportunity to experience Santa Barbara first-hand, while meeting one-on-one with over 60 hotel representatives from the upscale and luxury sector including:
