4.1 Microseconds Tick-to-Trade Latency Feed Handler Released by Fluent Trade Technologies
New York, New York (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- Fluent Trade Technologies - a leader in ultra-low latency feed handlers and execution gateways - achieved astonishing hardware-like latency figures, all in software. This marks another dramatic reduction in latency for Fluent’s single box solution.
Impressive figures released from tests performed in Intel labs, present a 0.7 microseconds average parsing latency for ITCH data, and approximately 1 microsecond parsing latency for FIX data. This results in a striking Tick-to-Trade average latency of around 4 microseconds for top of book, and a mere 0.2 microseconds additional latency for full book building and publishing. Deviations and Jitter are also at a bare minimum.

~45 % of the average originates from network driver & card.
Matan Kollnescher, head of the Feed Handler development team, explains how this was achieved: "This concludes an extensive R&D quest for pushing CPU, memory and network utilization to new grounds. Combining the innovation, expertise, and experience of our engineers with best-of-breed market products simply pays off."
The laboratory included an HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 machine, 1U, running 2*2667 V2 cpu, originally closed at 3.3 and clocked a test at 3.9 Ghz, with 32 GB RAM, 1800 Mhz memory speed (4*8 GB PC3-14900R). The network card used was a Solarflare® Flareon™ Ultra SFN7322F dual-port 10G Ethernet SFP, with an open-onload driver package. The setup included the Fluent Simulator (SimFix) on a separate back-to-back servers , sending market data and receiving trades, while measurements were made by CorvilNet appliances connected to fiber taps between the servers.
"We are extremely impressed with Fluent’s significant advances in market feed handler and execution gateway performance. Solarflare is proud to have been selected after their diligent and rigorous testing of all available technologies,” said Russell Stern, CEO of Solarflare.
Fluent took a strategic decision to be the best in feed handling and execution gateway latency:
"It's not only crucial for generating revenue opportunities for models and algorithms, but also substantially lowers operational costs," said Joel Steinmetz, Managing Director of Fluent Trade Technologies. Consistency of such low latency utilizes existing infrastructure much better, thus decreasing the ever-growing IT expenses tab.
"Fluent significantly shortens time-to-market, by offering wide market integration, unifying information from over 40 FX sources (including EBS , Reuters, FXALL, Hotspot, Bloomberg etc.), and focusing on a comprehensive, inherent risk management system," Joel says. "Fluent achieves maximum efficiency across the entire automated trading process, from hosting through big data post-trade analysis and investigation."
Fluent also offers hosting in 8 geographical locations, connectivity to over 65 liquidity providers,
and an impressive set of complementary tools like embedded user-space models support and a market data and trades simulator. Fluent continues to prove itself as a real market differentiator for financial customers.
