Ripley PR Selects Experienced News Producer as Account Executive
Knoxville, Tenn. (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- Ripley PR, a national business-to-business (B2B) public relations agency, announced the addition of Jennifer Stone as its new full-time account executive. The agency – offering a full range of strategic communication services, including crisis management, media relations, and social media strategies – represents clients based throughout the U.S. in commercial construction, health care technology, home services, franchising, manufacturing and technology.
“Jennifer brings considerable media experience, and I am pleased to welcome her to the team,” said Heather Ripley, president and founder of Ripley PR. “Her experience as a news producer and writer and her abilities to garner national publicity and coverage will be a real asset to our clients.”
Stone started as an associate producer at WKRN, the ABC affiliate in Nashville, Tenn., before moving to Knoxville, Tenn., where she spent more than five years producing daily newscasts for the local CBS affiliate, WVLT. In that role, she worked closely with several public relations agencies to arrange in-studio and reporter interviews. She has also contributed articles to The Source, published by HealthTrust Purchasing Group, and to MTSU Magazine, published by her alma mater.
Ripley PR recently moved to a new office in the historic downtown area of Maryville, Tenn. Heather Ripley’s career has included executive-level positions with several agencies and corporations, and she has created and executed successful PR and marketing campaigns for small start-ups, mid-size businesses and Fortune 500 corporations.
“Many businesses operating in a B2B environment aren’t very good at promoting themselves,” stated Ripley. “And, while most businesses know they need to maintain a good reputation, they may not realize that third-party credibility can also help with overall branding, lead generation and may shorten the sales cycle. Underutilizing public relations can be a huge mistake in today’s extremely competitive business environment.”
One of the areas often neglected in B2B marketing and communications plans, she says, is leveraging appropriate online and social media channels for lead generation.
“Often the B2B sales cycle is longer and more complex than in the B2C industry,” added Ripley. “Our job is to create and implement the strategies our clients need based on their industry and their business goals. Taking a journalistic approach can significantly affect how companies tell their story to a national audience.”
