All-New 2015 Ford F-150 Revealed at Detroit Auto Show, Maryland Ford Dealers Highly Anticipate Arrival
Preston, MD (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- The Ford F-150 is one of the top selling vehicles in the World, not to mention that it is the best selling truck in the United States. Truck enthusiasts and owners know that when it comes to Ford Trucks, Ford Motor Company takes the redesign and new launch of their product very seriously. It is no wonder that at the Detroit Auto Show on January 2nd of 2014, that the revealing of the 2015 Ford F-150 was one of the most anticipated events.
Inspired by the Ford Atlas concept truck design, the 2015 Ford F-150 has been totally redesigned and re-imagined just like the concept. Ford truck owners are sure to enjoy the technological improvements of this truck as well. For starters, Ford has been able to reduce the weight of the truck by 700 pounds by switching to military grade aluminum. This weight reduction should help the Ford F-150 increase the overall fuel economy for the full-sized truck. Not to mention that the aluminum alloy used for the production of the truck is the same alloy the U.S. military uses in their M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and Humvees; so expect a safe ride in the new Ford F-150.
"Our objective was to find materials that allowed us to design the truck to be as tough - or tougher - than the current model, yet could help it be hundreds of pounds lighter for better capability and fuel economy," said Pete Friedman, Ford's manager of manufacturing research. We shouldn't need to explain the benefits of a lighter truck (faster, stronger and more efficient).
Aside from the new aluminum construction in 2015 Ford F-150, Ford also introduces a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine for the truck. The new engine will include features like auto start-stop and improved fuel economy. The start-stop feature allows the truck to never be at a loss of power when towing or in 4-wheel drive. Surprisingly the 6.2-liter V8 engine offered by Ford is no longer being offered.
Set aside the changes under the hood and to the body of the truck, Ford has also included improvements the cabin and bed of the truck. LED lighting is now available as an option that includes all new cargo box lighting and tailgate lighting (headlights are still trim specific features as well). In the cabin you can expect to find a new optional 8 inch display with added truck apps. 360-degree camera are a first in this segment that you can expect with the new 2015 Ford F-150 as well. This means that the truck will have cameras mounted under the mirrors and in the front and back of the truck to allow owners to see virtually around the entire truck. F-150 buyers can also expect a “very large” panoramic sunroof option.
The new Ford F-150 will be available in 5 trim levels. These include: XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and King Ranch. “The new 2015 Ford F-150, I can tell will already become an instant best-seller at our Ford Dealerships,” says David Wilson Jr. of Preston Automotive Group, “Currently the F-150 is the number 1 truck choice in our Delaware and Maryland markets; we hope to really penetrate the truck market further with the all-new Ford truck.” More information on the 2015 Ford F-150 will be released once more details unfold. Production and release of the new product is expected for Fall 2014.
