Magma to Release Thunderbolt™ 2 Versions of Its Popular Expansion Products
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2014 -- Magma today announced the planned release of a Thunderbolt™ 2 compatible version of its popular EB1T, EB3T and ROBEN-3TS and 3TX expansion computing systems. The updated products will carry the same prices as the original, Thunderbolt™ versions, and will begin shipping to select resellers by February 28th.
“As with all of our products, we have invested the time and effort to make sure that our Thunderbolt™ 2 product variants are ready for prime time, and reflect the high quality the Magma brand represents,” said Magma president, Timothy Miller. “Our customers expect reliability from our products, and we are committed to living up to that expectation.”
To help existing Magma customers with their transition from Thunderbolt™ to the new, faster Thunderbolt™ 2 platform, Magma and its resellers will be offering upgrades kits for $99 for a limited time.
Upgrade kits for Thunderbolt™ enabled products (Magma EB1T, EB3T, ROBEN-3TS, and ROBEN-3TX) are expected to ship in March of this year.
“We want to make sure that all of our customers have a clear, and easy path to the new (Thunderbolt™ 2) platforms,” said Julia Elbert, vice president of engineering for Magma. “Our customers depend on us, so we will take the time to make sure that whatever path they choose with Thunderbolt™ 2, they can be confident that our products will perform.”
