Performance Matters Unveils UNIFY Assessment Platform at National User Conference
Winter Park, Fla. (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- To support the voluminous local assessment demands that school districts across the country are facing, Performance Matters™ has announced the initial release of the company’s next generation assessment platform, PM UNIFY. UNIFY is the first social platform designed for educators involved in local assessment development or assessment administration.
Part of Performance Matters’ award-winning http://www..performancematters.com/?page_id=1213 [assessment and data management system __title__ ], UNIFY will provide the capacity educators need to assess students in all course areas, not just those tested by states. The platform’s modular technology incorporates a workflow engine to support the end-to-end process of assessment development, including blueprinting, item authoring and review, test generation and test administration. In addition, UNIFY incorporates the current Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) standards to ensure educators will be able to author and administer the new interactive item types, in addition to traditional multiple choice items.
School districts subscribing to UNIFY will have ready access to assessment content that is locally developed, licensed through third parties, or contributed by collaborative participants. The robust security in UNIFY ensures that all assessment content will be protected as per copyright or licensure, or as specified by the local school district.
“UNIFY has been a part of our vision for years and it is exciting to see it come to fruition,” said Woody Dillaha, CEO and co-founder of Performance Matters. “We believe strongly that UNIFY has the potential to strengthen teaching, get students more interested and engaged in the testing process and ensure that assessments are more accessible and affordable. People are tuned into social networking; educators are ready to leverage this incredible tool.”
This month, UNIFY will be deployed at one of Performance Matters’ large customer sites, a district that is developing assessments for 420 courses. Performance Matters will release UNIFY to its entire customer base this spring.
“We’ve developed the next generation assessment platform that supports the full lifecycle of creating and managing technology enhanced items based on the QT12.1 industry standards,” said James Waters, co-founder and CTO of Performance Matters. “Our development team has done an unbelievable job with UNIFY; the system takes a very complex process and makes it easy and intuitive for our users.”
