Fulbright Commission Partnership Solidifies ArborBridge's Presence in United Kingdom
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- The partnership is intended to give ArborBridge greater exposure in what is already its strongest overseas market and to make ArborBridge's premium online test preparation services available to the thousands of students that gain assistance from the Fulbright Commission each year.
The US-UK Fulbright Commission’s Advising Team is part of the EducationUSA global network of advisors, supported by the U.S. Department of State, that promote U.S. education around the world. It is the official source of information on educational exchange opportunities in the US.
"ArborBridge works with schools and partners around the world," said Josh Stephens. "Few organizations are as active, professional and effective as the US-UK Fulbright Foundation."
In 2012, 9,467 students from the UK were attending university in the United States, an all-time high; 48% of them were undergraduates. British students are often drawn to the United States because of American universities' curricular flexibility and the vast variety of schools. Recent fee increases in the UK have also prompted more students to consider the United States.
"The United Kingdom has some of the finest universities in the world," said Josh Stephens. "Even so, the geographic proximity to the UK, the common language, and the incredible academic opportunities in the United States attract many great British students every year. It's a win-win for both countries."
In almost every case, British students must take the SAT or ACT, the two major college entrance exams in the United States. These exams typically do not test students on material that they would have learned in the British A-Level curriculum. ArborBridge's mission is to help students fill in gaps in skills and knowledge and ensure that their test scores complement their academic and personal credentials.
"The SAT and ACT are challenging mainly when they are unfamiliar," said Kate Ballard-Rosa, ArborBridge's Senior Director of Instruction. "With personalized, intensive preparation, British students stand to raise their scores tremendously."
ArborBridge is one of a number of marketing partners associated with the Fulbright Commission. The partnership entails a presence on the commission's website, visibility at events put on by the commission, and participation in the commission's signature event, USA College Day, held every autumn in London.
“As the official source of US study in the UK, Fulbright supports thousands of students with the application process each year through our online resources, events and services,” said Lauren Welch, Director Advising and Marketing, US-UK Fulbright Commission. “However, there are students and families that are interested a little extra help along the way. It is therefore wonderful to partner with educational specialists like ArborBridge, who can offer more personalised support as they navigate the US admissions process.”
