New business franchise offers residential, commercial painting services.

Three-and-a-half years ago, Peggy (Villone) McNeil left an 18-year career as the co-owner of a tile and stone business. Today she’s starting the new chapter of her life as the owner of a new business – Fresh Coat Painters of Southern Pines.

“For the last few years I was in insurance and business services. Although I enjoyed what I was doing, I always missed being in the home remodeling and construction business. I love interior remodeling and I’ve been helping friends and clients as a painting consultant for years, so Fresh Coat Painters was a great fit for me,” McNeil said.

Fresh Coat Painters offers residential and commercial painting services including interior and exterior painting, wood staining and finishing, and other services for nearly every protective coating application. They use quality, environmentally safe materials and are committed to great customer experiences with services such as 24/7 access and free touch-ups.

“I wanted a franchise system so I could get up and running right away and have the sort of support system I need and my customers deserve. I did a lot of research and just fell in love with the systems and the people of Fresh Coat. They listen to owners, who have listened to clients, and have put together a business model that works well for everyone,” she said.

Fresh Coat was founded in 2004 as part of Strategic Franchising Systems, which has more than 20 years of franchise experience. In the last year, Fresh Coat has been included in the Bond’s Top 100 and named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 list. Fresh Coat also is part of the International Franchise Association, the Small Business Association’s Franchise Registry, VetFran and Minority Fran.

In addition to providing great painting services, McNeil is looking forward to giving back to the community.

“I just launched, but already I was invited to be a sponsor for a local cancer fundraiser put on by Village Design Group where all the money raised stayed in the local community and I participated in a Feed the World event by Anna Edwards of Wells Fargo Advisors where we packaged 10,000 meals to feed families throughout the world. I also took part in a local Veterans Job fair where I was able to hire several new employees,” she said. “I want to be a great neighbor and supporter within the community. I truly think that’s an important part of being a business owner.”
