Nana Annan has been named the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) at The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY). The COO position is part of the BCNY strategic plan to strengthen and streamline its management capacity. As COO, Ms. Annan will be responsible for managing a wide range of operational areas including Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities Management, Security, Central Purchasing, and Risk Management.
“BCNY is all about providing opportunities for its members. Every single day when you walk through the doors at any of the BCNY facilities, you are actively engaged in the mission of empowerment and support to the members who are there,” said Ms. Annan. “It’s a privilege to be a part of a team that can move these objectives forward in real time.”
“Nana has hit the ground running and is already making an impact in several key areas of operation,” said BCNY Executive Director Stephen Tosh. “She is focused and results-oriented and brings a wealth of skills and experience to our team.”
Ms. Annan has an extensive and varied professional experience, including ten years at Morgan Stanley in several project management and IT positions. Prior to joining BCNY, she also worked with many non-profit organizations focused on education, development and advocacy such as Brooklyn Generation School, United Nations Development Programme, Kids in Need of Defense, and Greater Boston Legal Services. Ms. Annan has a JD from Boston University School of Law and a BSc. in Computer Science from Spelman College.
BCNY, a youth development organization that uses a multi-disciplinary approach to prepare boys and young men to achieve their full potential, is thrilled that Ms. Annan will be taking on this new role, and congratulates her on her successes.
