Hobby Express Celebrates Golden Anniversary, Looks Back at 50 Years in Business
Brentwood, Tenn. (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- Hobby Express (formerly hobby-lobby.com, now at hobbyexpress.com), a hobby store that sells radio control airplanes, helicopters, cars, boats and other hobby products in-store, catalog and online is celebrating 50 years of business in 2014.
In its first 50 years of business as Hobby Lobby International, Inc., Hobby Express manufactured and sold thousands of hobby products on the leading edge of innovation in hobby technology. Hobby Express was first to enter electric flight, when gas and go engines were the standard.
“At Hobby Express, we’re proud of our reputation for service and reliability,” said Mark A. Cleveland, CEO and owner of Hobby Express. “As we celebrate our golden anniversary, we’re happy to reflect on our long history of success while looking ahead to bold new products that will bring consumers even more joy for years to come.”
Hobby Express is wrapping up a year of both growth and change. In late 2013, the company rebranded to become Hobby Express, leaving its original name, Hobby Lobby International, Inc., behind in order to avoid brand confusion with a popular craft store of the same name. In addition, the company named Kurt Cleveland as its new president. He previously served as chief information officer for Hobby Express.
Looking ahead to 2014, Hobby Express will continue providing innovative and reliable hobby products to share the fun with consumers. The priority is expanding and developing some of the company’s top selling products in its first 50 years including:
Telemaster: A model airplane used for training and fun, the first Telemaster was built around 1967. Since its inception, the easy to fly RC plane has been made available in multiple different sizes (including a Mini, 6 foot and 12 foot Giant) and used for training, UAVs and aerial photography.
eRC Airplanes: With multiple price points and styles, eRC airplanes have been longtime favorites of consumers, no matter the skill level.
eRC Controllers: eRC offers incredible value with its high performance programmable brushless speed controllers for eRC airplanes.
Pilot 1: This is the finest golden age scale aircraft on the market. Pilot 1 planes capture the look and excitement of classic planes and combine race looks with sport flyer handling that is easy to build and fly.
“We have spent the last 50 years helping families and friends make memories centered around our products,” says Kurt Cleveland, president of Hobby Express. “Our customers have been so amazingly positive on our brand change. This is truly humbling and makes us even more excited for more innovation in the next 50.”
