With Over 10,000 Programmers and 30 Companies, CodeSprint 5 Brings Hackers Around the World Together for 24 Hours of Competition
Mountain View, Calif (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- HackerRank, the online social hub that lets developers code for fun, has announced CodeSprint 5, a 24-hour online programming contest that coders around the world will be taking part in. The contest is sponsored by top technology companies including Palantir, Square, Evernote, Quora, Rocket Fuel and many others. This is HackerRank’s 5th edition of their CodeSprint series and with the projected total number of participants in the contest expected to surpass 10,000, it’s also expected to be their largest.

HackerRank designed the CodeSprint series to allow programmers to compete and showcase their skills. Not only are these meant to be a fun and friendly competition, coders can compete for prizes and jobs. Regardless of country, school or background, coders will be able to take part in the 11 challenges that comprise CodeSprint 5 over the 24 hours that the contest will run. It is this level playing field that has excited programmers around the globe in past CodeSprints and has led to companies flocking to sponsor the contest in order to find great talent from all corners of the world.
After the contest has ended, programmers will be able to connect to any of the sponsoring companies that they are interested in. The companies are then able to consider programmers for possible jobs based on the actual demonstrated skills versus resumes, which are not capable of proving or measuring coding talent.
