Studio V Announces the Opening of Their New Recording Studio
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- The studio is a partnership between music and vocal producer Jeff Levin, who founded one of the country's fastest growing music school chains and Ben Green, engineer and a founding member of the band Fairweather, whose records have helped influence the modern punk and melodic hardcore genres. With a strong emphasis on recording science courses and artist production and development, the recording studio is both a teaching environment and a commercial facility.
The 2,100 square foot studio features seven rooms with varying acoustical environments, from large and bright to small and dry, and each room is tied to each other via thousands of feet of cabling. This flexibility in sound makes the studio suitable for many different projects and styles, and the studio's setup is intuitive and easy to work in, making it quick and simple to experiment with different tracking methods.
Services offered at Studio V include audio recording, mixing and mastering, production development and arranging, mixing for television and radio, songwriting and scoring, mobile recording, voiceover and ADR services and duplication. Studio V also offers several different educational programs, internships and also offers studio rentals to freelance engineers looking for a versatile space to bring their projects.
Studio V offers a unique Artist Development program for talented artists that are serious about creating a comprehensive commercial presence and creating a recorded product of the highest caliber to market and promote. Their experienced staff works closely with their clients to develop an effective strategy and provide them with all the necessary media associated with this complex process, like photography, visual design and videography. Their affiliation with renowned radio promoter Gary Lefkowith provides a path towards commercially marketing their recordings for radio play – especially benefiting new and unsigned artists.
Studio V offers several programs that give younger students an opportunity to explore both the musical and scientific aspects of music. Many of their past students have gone on to excel at engineering and musical programs in college, while a few are even working regularly as staff at the studio. Nearly all graduates of the engineering program go on to build their own client list, and are consistently running sessions there on their own. Educational programs offered at Studio V include audio engineering, song-craft and composition, and amplifier building.
Jeff Levin, President at Studio V has a long and impressive history working with musicians in the DC area. He has his Masters in Music Education from the University of Delaware, and in 2004, he founded the East Coast Music Production Camp which later became a national music chain. Jeff has produced and arranged music for many national artists like Jimmy Marley and Michael Shaw, and has worked extensively with younger developing artists in the DC area, especially those involved in musical theater. He also founded 21st Century Music Solutions which provides music programs to senior centers, satellite schools as well as in home lessons.
Ben Green, Chief Engineer at Studio V designed the functionality of the studio. He founded the band Fairweather in the late 90s, whose “Alaska” record charted on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart in 2002, and whose records during the time are considered to be landmarks of that era's punk music. He's played and toured internationally with groups like Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, and Dashboard Confessional. After the disbanding of Fairweather in 2003, his attention turned to engineering, producing and teaching recording sciences. The band reunited in 2011, and recorded their first album in 10 years at Studio V – due out on Equal Vision Records in early 2014.
Studio V’s new recording studio is located in Herndon Virginia, just off the Dulles Expressway and the future Metro Silver Line, just thirty minutes from Washington D.C.
