As the NFL Season Comes to a Close for LaRon Landry, the Hard Work and Dedication Doesn’t Stop as He Focuses on the Growth of His Leadership For Life Foundation
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- "Some people think that because our games are over, the work is over. I disagree; it's just a little different,” said LaRon Landry after completing his first season with the Indianapolis Colts. “Today I'll be in the gym & on the field perfecting my craft, I won't miss a day. Most importantly I'll be working with my Foundation in serving the underserved -- meeting with kids one-on-one, organizing sports clinics, and I'll even do some corporate networking in order to take my 'Thanksgiving Tuesday' Annual Event into every NFL city. So there's plenty of work to do, & it all starts today." LaRon founded the Leadership For Life Foundation in 2010. Leadership For Life Foundation (LFL) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to inspire and motivate youth to become involved in community activities, set personal goals, visualize their dreams and take responsibility for their own lives by encouraging leadership through service. The Foundation works with political leaders and local organizations in helping students enhance their communities and foster hope that helps them make lasting changes in their lives. LFL focuses on the social, emotional, academic and physical development of youth. LFL strives to service youth by providing a variety of programs ranging from sports and fitness camps, male and female mentoring, college and career exploration, academic support and individual/group counseling. Leadership For Life hosts an annual “Thanksgiving Tuesday Turkey Drive” event in numerous cities including Washington D.C, New York City and Indianapolis. In 2013, LFL served over 500 families in the Indianapolis area complete Thanksgiving dinners with the support of local volunteers and corporate food donations. Last year, working in all 3 cities, LFL provided 1,300 Turkeys and 1,300 Fixins Bags to families in need, enough food to feed some 7,800 people. LaRon and the Foundation’s goal is to expand LFL and the “Thanksgiving Tuesday Turkey Drive” event into all 32 NFL cities.
