Oncology Organization Focused on Improving Patient Care Outcomes Adds to Clinical Team

Physician Resource Management, Inc. (PRM) continues to add integral team members to their roster with the addition of Emily Mackler, Pharm.D., BCOP as Senior Director, Clinical Pharmacy Initiatives for the organization.

Ms. Mackler has developed a nationally recognized presence in clinical oncology. Most recently, she served as a clinical pharmacist in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan. Her experience in participating in the development of symptom management, supportive care programs, and ambulatory oncology initiatives brings a wealth of knowledge to PRM.

Emily is an accomplished researcher with a comprehensive portfolio of publications and presentations on the management of oral chemotherapy spanning the continuum from prescribing, to adherence programs, and symptom management. Additionally, she has extensive experience investigating patient outcomes and teaching oncology pharmacotherapeutics.

In her new role, Ms. Mackler will work with Dr. Blayney on the development of evidence based, clinical programs. “Emily has made remarkable achievements at a very early point in her career. Her significant contributions to the understanding of oral chemotherapies is of enormous importance and I very much look forward to working alongside her,“ said Dr. Douglas Blayney M.D., Senior Medical Advisor, PRM.

Emily received her Pharm.D. from Drake University in 2000. Her desire to specialize in oncology clinical practice brought her to University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH for residency training. Emily’s career in oncology hematology progressed at the University of Michigan Health System from 2002-2013.
