Matan Gains Approval for Wal-Mart Supercenter in Frederick
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- The Frederick Planning Commission announced Monday its approval for a new 190,000-square foot Wal-Mart Supercenter to be built in Frederick on the northwest corner of Monocacy Boulevard and Route 26.
After two years of working with city residents, staff and officials to address concerns regarding traffic, landscaping and design, the developer, Matan Companies, has been given the green light to move forward on the project. “We at Matan, are very appreciative of the effort put forth by Frederick City Staff and the input received from the community to achieve a development which will be a win win for all,” said Karl Morris, Head of Development.
The Frederick Trading Center, where the Wal-Mart Supercenter will be located, was acquired by Matan in 2010 as a redevelopment opportunity. An additional 3 available pads sites will complete the redevelopment.
