Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- AED.com, a leading online retailer of new and recertified AEDs, recently donated an AED to Camp del Corazon. The camp, located on Catalina Island, was founded in 1995 to offer children with heart disease a camp experience free of charge. Campers are able to bond with peers suffering from the same kinds of health challenges in a safe environment fully staffed with medical professionals.
One way the camp is able to provide this heart-safe atmosphere is by keeping a total of four automated external defibrillators or AEDs around the campsite. Individuals with existing heart conditions, like the campers at Camp del Corazon, have a heightened risk of suffering cardiac arrest. The use of an AED along with CPR is by far the most successful means to revive a patient who has suffered cardiac arrest.
AED.com proudly donated one of those four AEDs to Camp del Corazon. Blaire Czarniecki of AED.com states, "We were so honored to be able to donate an AED to Camp Del Corazon. This camp truly enriches the lives of children living with heart disease and gives them an opportunity to just be kids! We hope the camp never has a need for this AED but knowing they have one readily available is security we are happy to provide."
AED.com sells and services both new and recertified AEDs. The company is located in Brentwood, TN and serves over 20,000 customers in all 50 states and over 40 countries worldwide. For more information, please visit: http://www.aed.com/.
